Turn the camshaft as far as the No.1 cylinder's beginning of injection position. 3. Check that the pointer alignment mark of the injection pump and the alignment mark of the flywheel are matching. 4. If they are not matching, erase the alignment mark on the flywheel side, and stamp an alignment mark on the flywheel position that matches with the pointer side alignment mark. 5. Check again that the coupling's key groove position is in the No.1 cylinder's beginning of injection position.

A:Sealing position B:Pre-stroke actuator 1. When installing the pre-stroke actuator on the pump, first tighten the installation bolts loosely, then move the actuator fully counterclockwise (viewed from the drive side). Temporary tightening torque: 1 - 1.5 N.m (0.1 - 0.15 kgf.m) 2. Move the actuator in the clockwise direction when viewed from the drive side, and adjust so that it becomes the adjustment point of the adjustment value. Then tighten it. Tightening torque: 7^9 N.m (0.7^0.9 kgf.m) 3. After prestroke actuator installation adjustment, simultaneously stamp both the actuator side and housing side.

This notice is also in accordance with the requirements of the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Caterpillar has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in 2007, 2008, and 2009 model year trucks equipped with certain Caterpillar C7, C9, C13, and C15 truck engines.
A failure of the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) chassis attachment bracket and straps may allow the DPF to separate from the chassis and become a road hazard, which may result in a situation where a vehicle crash could occur. New DPF chassis attachment brackets and straps will be installed on the products listed below. You will not be charged for the service performed.
If you are a lessor of these vehicles, you must forward this letter to your lessee within ten days.
If you have had your vehicle repaired for this condition prior to receipt of this notice and incurred any costs, you may be eligible for reimbursement. Please contact Caterpillar at this toll free number (800) 447-4986.

Rework Procedure
1) Wash debris from Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and adjacent exhaust piping as necessary.
2) Remove exhaust piping from DPF inlet, DPF outlet, and the CGI port.
3) Disconnect the electrical harness from the DPF sensor box.
4) Place a transmission jack or similar lifting device under the DPF center section.
