0000001801 W-CSD ADJUSTMENT

Adjustment of the W-CSD
1. Adjustment of the advance angle of the timer
(1)Determine the timer advance angle from the graph in Fig. 2 (D).
(2)(1) Adjust with the screw so that the timer advance angle determined in the item (1) is obtained.

0000001901 V-FICD ADJUSTMENT

Adjustment of the V-FICD
1. Confirm that the gap between the control lever (B) and the actuator rod (A) is at least L1.
2. Insert a shim L2 between the control lever (B) and the idle adjusting screw (C).
3. Adjust using the stroke adjusting screw (E) so that the actuator moves through its full stroke. Fix using nut (F).
When adjustment is not possible using the stroke adjusting screw (E), move the actuator rod position using (G), (H) and (I).
Adjust again the stroke with (E) and (F).
4. Apply negative pressure P1 {P2} to the actuator. Confirm that it moves through its full stroke.
5. After releasing the negative pressure, reconfirm that the gap between (A) and (B) is at least L1.

Information:
Use quantity of fuel used, distance (odometer) interval or service hours, whichever occurs first.1Experience has shown that maintenance intervals are most accurately scheduled on the basis of fuel consumed. However, Caterpillar recognizes that the distance (odometer) interval is most commonly used to schedule maintenance for on-highway vehicles. Distance intervals are based on a typical over-the-road truck application. For other applications use hours or fuel intervals to determine and schedule maintenance.Daily
