Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load, can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components.If the engine has been operating at highway speeds and/or high loads, run at low idle for at least three minutes to reduce and stabilize internal engine temperature before stopping the engine.

If your vehicle is equipped with an Electronic engine, DO NOT operate the engine without the rack actuator solenoid (BTM) in place and with the fuel shutoff solenoid disabled. Excessive engine speed (overspeed) may result.
The manual shutoff lever is located on the side of the electronic governor. The engine can be shut OFF by rotating and holding the manual shutoff lever in the counterclockwise (CCW) direction.Rotating and holding the manual shutoff lever in the clockwise (CW) direction overrides the shutoff solenoid. If freezing temperatures are expected, allow the engine jacket water system to cool; then check the coolant for proper antifreeze protection. The engine must be protected against freezing to the lowest expected outside temperature. Add permanent-type antifreeze if required.
